TWD: Blueberry Sour Cream Ice Cream + Rewind

Photobucket

Dolores of Chronicles in Culinary Curiosity chose the Blueberry Sour Cream Ice Cream on page 434. I'm not going to lie. I was looking forward to making ice cream, but I wasn't really excited about the flavor. I knew it would just be way too much berry-flavor for me - which it was.

It was still a fun recipe to make even though I didn't like the flavor. I also decided to go back to the TWD roots and do a rewind of the Brown Sugar Pecan Shortbread Cookies. They were absolutely wonderful (even though I over-baked them).

As always, don't miss all the fun - go check out the rest of the Tuesdays with Dorie crew's fantastic efforts!

Hah! I think your aversion to fruit is definitely a factor. It looks perfect from where I'm sitting-- can rival the deepest, densest Haagen-Dazs flavor I can think of :)

I am commenting. Can I have a cookie now?
Ok, I love the perfect little round scoops of ice cream. The shortbread is a great go-with. As a berry lover and a sour cream lover - I will gladly finish your ice cream for you. Yum.

Gorgeous ice cream. Mine actually didn't have enough berry flavor. I have to try that shortbread again. I couldn't get mine to stay in nice little squares.

It looks beautiful! Sorry you didn't love it. I really enjoyed it, but I love sour cream-y things. The shortbread was a great addition.

Beautiful color! I'm sorry that you didn't like it so much. I'm sure it paired perfectly (if you liked it of course) with the shortbreads.
