TWD: Chipster-Topped Brownies

Beth of Supplicious chose this week's recipe from Baking From My Home To Yours, by Dorie Greenspan, for our Tuesdays with Dorie escapades.

Beth, my sincerest thanks go out to you for the choice and especially to Dorie for creating and putting this recipe in the book in the first place.

To say that I loved this recipe is actually putting it mildly.  After all, this recipe basically combines my two most favorite comfort desserts into one insanely delicious and addictive pan -seriously, it is genius.  Chocolaty and delicious brownies topped by incredible chocolate chip cookie dough.

'Nuff said - well, almost, I will say one more thing for you to wrap your mind around:  Cut a nice square while warm, top it off with some vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce - yeah, I went there.

Don't forget to check out more chocolaty goodness at the Tuedays with Dorie blogroll!

*Vanilla* ice cream? Oh, Holly, you disappoint me! Kidding! I suppose if you'd used bittersweet chocolate sorbet, that's exactly why they call it "Death by Chocolate." But I knew you would go there. And I knew you'd love this from the moment I saw the title! :)

Mmmm... creamy, chewy, moist and tender... what more to ask!?

...hum... a package delivered to my house, perhaps? (I wish!)

Very well done! ...even perfect as a matter of fact!

I love Dorie's Bakers. No matter how rich a dessert is, it can always be accompanied by ice cream. Glad you enjoyed!

Oh yours look lovely - much more cookie/brownie like than mine, which sort of turned into a generic bar cookie type of thing. I'm glad you loved them~! :)

They look great. I loved these too. Couldn't get enough of them. Thought about making them into an ice cream sundae but couldn't stop eating them long enough to get a bowl.

Fantastic job, they look amazing! Totally great comfort food: I wasn't feeling great when I made them, so I think I enjoyed them more than I normally would have.

Great new header, too.

Yours look absolutely perfect. I cut mine warmish, too, as the boys could not wait! They were circling literally. The next day mine had firmed up a bit and weren't so moist but they loved them that way, too. My photo is of the warm version...they loved the gooey chewniess they said...yours would have been gone in no time as they look perfect!

These look delicious. I've made something similar only in reverse (Brownie topped Blondies) from the Tate's Bake Shop Cookbook. It's really great when two classics come together in such a delicious way.

Eating it the way you described sounds perfect to me! Wonderful job, they looks stunning.

Glad you enjoyed them so much! I'm jealous of your pretty, distinct layers. I definitely wasn't so lucky with the layers :)
