Beth of Supplicious chose this week's recipe from Baking From My Home To Yours, by Dorie Greenspan, for our Tuesdays with Dorie escapades.
Beth, my sincerest thanks go out to you for the choice and especially to Dorie for creating and putting this recipe in the book in the first place.
To say that I loved this recipe is actually putting it mildly. After all, this recipe basically combines my two most favorite comfort desserts into one insanely delicious and addictive pan -seriously, it is genius. Chocolaty and delicious brownies topped by incredible chocolate chip cookie dough.
'Nuff said - well, almost, I will say one more thing for you to wrap your mind around: Cut a nice square while warm, top it off with some vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce - yeah, I went there.
Don't forget to check out more chocolaty goodness at the Tuedays with Dorie blogroll!

Good to hear that this was so good, now I really have to give these another go!!!
*Vanilla* ice cream? Oh, Holly, you disappoint me! Kidding! I suppose if you'd used bittersweet chocolate sorbet, that's exactly why they call it "Death by Chocolate." But I knew you would go there. And I knew you'd love this from the moment I saw the title! :)
They tasted so fabulous.
But mine would not bake...not for anything.
I felt the same way- so tasty! And PS- I love your new header. :)
They look wonderful! I wasn't sure how impressed I was with this recipe until they sat overnight. Very tasty!
Mmmm... creamy, chewy, moist and tender... what more to ask!?
...hum... a package delivered to my house, perhaps? (I wish!)
Very well done! ...even perfect as a matter of fact!
I love Dorie's Bakers. No matter how rich a dessert is, it can always be accompanied by ice cream. Glad you enjoyed!
I agree on all counts! MMmmm, yours look so gooey and delish :)
Sinfully decadent... Holly, you never disappoint ;-)
How wonderfully moist they look! Yum!
Love how your brownie topped cracked a bit- looks delicious.
all I can say about this recipe is delicous!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great minds think alike - I SOOO topped mine with ice cream and syrup! Yours look great!
Oh yours look lovely - much more cookie/brownie like than mine, which sort of turned into a generic bar cookie type of thing. I'm glad you loved them~! :)
Well done, they look terrific!
Yours look awesome Holly- great job!
I'm really going to have to try these with ice cream. Everyone keeps suggesting it. =)
Your brownies look perfect. I'm glad they were a success for you.
So glad these worked out for you! I must have taken a wrong turn along the way because mine were goo even after they tested done.
I really really loved these too. Yours look really tummy!
Holly, These look tempting! I was reading a few reviews on Amazon about "Baking From My Home to Yours"...how has your luck with the recipes been overall? i was going to buy the book, but the not so great reviews have made me hesitate...
Oh no you di'nt! Hehe, sorry, I couldn't help it :) They look pretty darned awesome, and I bet they were wonderful with ice cream!
I was also crazy about these! Yours look delicious!
Yours look perfect. As always! Great job.
They look great. I loved these too. Couldn't get enough of them. Thought about making them into an ice cream sundae but couldn't stop eating them long enough to get a bowl.
Fantastic job, they look amazing! Totally great comfort food: I wasn't feeling great when I made them, so I think I enjoyed them more than I normally would have.
Great new header, too.
Yours look absolutely perfect. I cut mine warmish, too, as the boys could not wait! They were circling literally. The next day mine had firmed up a bit and weren't so moist but they loved them that way, too. My photo is of the warm version...they loved the gooey chewniess they said...yours would have been gone in no time as they look perfect!

Your brownies look beautiful - I love the coloring of them! It looks so yummy, I'm ready for another bite!
These look delicious. I've made something similar only in reverse (Brownie topped Blondies) from the Tate's Bake Shop Cookbook. It's really great when two classics come together in such a delicious way.
Eating it the way you described sounds perfect to me! Wonderful job, they looks stunning.
Glad you enjoyed them so much! I'm jealous of your pretty, distinct layers. I definitely wasn't so lucky with the layers :)
Looks so yummy!
yours is perfectly golden - mine browned a little bit more b/c i didn't cover it w/foil soon enough
I have been wanting to try these forever. They look so good. Right up my alley.
